Gathering of the Eagles Call for Volunteers!!!

May 27-29. 2022


First and foremost, we need 3 people to help with being volunteer leads and to man a command center on Saturday May 28th, we’d like a food prep lead, parking lead and cleanup lead.

Thursday Volunteer Orientation and Tour 5:00pm – Dinner provided, in-person 

All times are estimates and subject to change.  Volunteers will be notified with more detailed and settled times.

Victory Paddle and Official Landing at Lummi Nation and Coastal Jam

All volunteers are asked to check in with the volunteer command center up near the Wexlium Community Center on 2100 Lummi Shore Drive.  All volunteers will need to bring their own chairs, drinks and snacks.

Days Events

1:00 pm soft landing at Gooseberry Point (ferry terminal) and lunch

4:00 pm Victory landing at Stommish Grounds

5:00 pm Canoe family dinner at the Community center (Wexlium)

6:00 pm Coastal Jam Community center (Wexlium)

7:00 pm Alliance of Earth, Sky & Watre Protectors (Stommish Grounds)

9:00 pm Whale People Exhibit (Stommish Grounds) 

Volunteers needed for:

First Aid Station

1)    12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Stommish and Wexlium

Food Prep and Service volunteers  

1)    10:30 am  – 12:00 pm Brown Bag lunches for canoe families – need about 5 people

2)    2:00 -6:00 pm Canoe Families Dinner – need about 10 people

3)    7:00 – 8:00 pm clean up

Canoe handlers (steady and assist with carrying canoes)

1)    3:00 – 5:00 pm Stommish Grounds, need about 20 people be able to get wet

Parking Monitors

1)    3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Outside Community Center need about 8 people

Grounds and facility clean up (Wexlium and Stommish)

1)    7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Honor Day, Community Center (Wexlium)

 All volunteers are asked to check in with the volunteer command center up near the Community Center (Wexlium) on Lummi Shore Drive.  All volunteers will need to bring their own chairs, drinks and snacks.

7:00 am – 930 am Continental Breakfast for Canoe families

10:00 am Volunteer Assembly

10:00 am “Our Sacred Obligation” film screening

11:00 am Lunch

12:00 – 4:00 pm Jewell James Honoring

4:00 pm Witnesses presentation

5:00 pm Dinner – open to public

6:00 pm Protocol

7:00 pm Alliance of Protectors – Introduction circle

9:00 pm Whale People Exhibit 

Volunteers needed for:

Shower Monitors (1 Male, 1 Female)

6:00 -10:00 am (assist LN School with sanitizing and clean up)

First Aid Station

1)    11:30 pm – 8:00 pm Stommish and Wexlium 

Food Prep and Service volunteers  

1)    5:00 am Continental Breakfast need about

2)    10:00 am – 11:00 pm Brown Bag lunches

3)    2:00 -5:00 pm Dinner prep – need about 20 people

4)    6:00 pm -7:00 pm clean-up 

Ushers and Greeters

1)    11:30 am – 4:00 pm Guest Monitors (ushers, tend to elders, beverage service, etc.)

Parking Monitors

1)    10:00 am – 7:00 pm Outside Community Center need about 8 people

Grounds and facility clean up (Wexlium and Stommish)

1)    7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

 

Sunday 29 – Alliance of Protectors Strategy Session

             Day’s Events

                        7:00 am Breakfast

                        10:00 am Alliance of Earth, Sky and Water Protectors session

                        12:00 pm Lunch

                        1:00 pm Reconvene session

                        5:00 pm Dinner

                        6:00 pm Coastal Jam

                        9:00 pm Whale People Exhibit
